Nutrition Education & SNAP-Ed

Bangor Public Health and Community Services partners with University of New England’s Public Health Program and Maine Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) to hold a variety of nutrition education programs in Penobscot and Piscataquis counties.

Our classes are fun and free, and provide participants with real tips and tricks that can help you stretch your food budget and feed your family healthier options.

We offer classes for youth, adults, seniors, and families throughout our communities.

Youth programs are held at Headstart programs, and in schools and child care centers in which 50% or more of students receive free/reduced lunch. Adult programs may take place at senior living facilities, food pantries, Eastern Area Agency on Aging Community Cafes, etc.
